The Realignment

Something has come apart. We close it, and build whatever closing it takes.

A few weeks. We price it together before anything starts.

The order

A reading finds four or five things that have come apart. The order we close them in matters more than the list.

Closing the first one changes the others. Some close with it. One usually turns out to be bigger than it looked. So the list you have at the start is rarely the list you’d write a month in.

We start with the one that moves the most, and rewrite the list as we go rather than working through it in the order it was written.

How much of it we take on is agreed before anything starts, and so is what it looks like when it’s done.

This only works on something that has come apart. If nothing is broken and there is something to build, that is the Making.

Who it’s for

Two ways people get here.

A Check-Up found it

You’ve seen the map, and you know which of the gaps on it is costing you most. We start there.

You already knew

Some people don’t need a week of reading to say what’s wrong. If you can name it, and the First Reading agrees, we can go straight at it.

What closing it looks like

How it goes

A few weeks, and three moves in them.

We agree what’s being closed

In writing, before anything starts. What’s being closed, what it looks like when it’s closed, and what we’re leaving alone.

We build the thing

Ourselves, or with the people who should be making it. You see rough versions early, not a reveal at the end.

We hand it over working

Not a document about what to do. The thing itself, in use, with whatever your people need to keep running it.

Everything starts with a First Reading.

Thirty minutes, free. Most people arrive sure of what needs to change. The reading is where that gets tested.
